25 years after the first Amiga was released the AmigaOne X1000 brings back Amiga to the modernity. It will feature a Power PC processor and a programmable custom chip called Xena. It will use AmigaOS 4.X and will be available before Summer.
It will be released before the end of 2008.
Come of its features are state-of-the-art applications such as modern web-browsers, productivity software or digital imaging software typically operate on large datasets with a corresponding memory footprint which rapidly outstrips the physical memory of any computer system. Amiga OS 4.1 offers intelligent memory paging and uses transparent disk based memory - but only when you need it.
The long awaited version 2 of this operating system is available for Pegasos and Efika Boards.
It includes a new TCO/IP stack, Poseidon USB stack and MUI 4.0 among other updates.
Like its predecesor, it offers 3 PCI slots and 1 mini PCI slot. Everybody is waiting the moment to enjoy AmigaOS4 in this machine. Below, some Sam features:
FlexATX Form Factor (215 x 170 mm)
CPU SoC AMCC 440ep - 667 Mhz
DDR DIMM 100 slot, max 512 MB (or in alternative 512 MB DDR soldered onboard)
USB 2.0 OHCI/EHCI NXP PCI controller

I've tried this game on my Amiga CD32 tonigth. This is one of the few games that shows the capabilities of the CD32. The intro sequence is impressive, all pixeled art, without rendered animations, with nice music and speech, very well done.
In this adventure you take control of 4 robots, like in a Dungeon Master game, but the gameplay is a lot like DoomRPG or DeathMask.

At UK's biggest Amiga show, there was held an IRC Q&A session with the AmigaOS 4.0 developers. Some highlights:

'[...]We are not the same company that we were in 2000. We have a clear vision and clear steps and goals to get us there. We have been working for months to get the OS 4 hardware and software situation resolved and we will continue to do so, but we also realize that we can not wait, and started work in 2004 on version 5 of the operating system, and we are very pleased with our progress.'
Early on the 'Amiga time scale' means several months but on 27 July 2006 Elbox had presentation of DRAGON 1200 for a Freescale Inc. representative who visited Elbox Computer. The DRAGON 1200-based system on presentation was fitted with the Radeon 9200 AGP graphic card, the Fast Ethernet network card, the Hi-Speed USB and TV tuner cards, all working under AmigaOS 3.9.
A great game done in 1991 by Ocean but never published... until now. I really like this type of game, very very funny.

Minimig is an A500 compatible Amiga in which the 3 custom chip Agnus, Denise and Paula are implemented in a single FGPA. (Field Programmable Gate Array, a reprogrammable logic chip) For now, Minimig is constructed as 3 experimental circuit boards, but the final goal is to create a real motherboard that can run most of the available Amiga 500 software. To play Desert Racing of Bardos your Amiga has to be equipped with an AGA chipset or a graphicsboard. A 68030/33 is minimum. 1,5MB ChipRAM and 32 MB FastRAM are the requirements but more is always better.
